The Staffordshire Hoard was discovered in July , a chance find by an amateur treasure hunter with a metal detector working a newly ploughed field in the English Midlands. Taken from the Evesham and Four Shires Advertiser, Saturday 28 December It is with very much regret that we record the death of Mr. Thomas Adkins, of Long Hyde, Littleton, near Evesham, which occurred on Saturday last.
